Installation instructions for mounting of unit in carpet covered floors as shown above:

  • Using a 4” hole saw, drill hole through plywood floor (between joists)
  • Remove 4 screws in top plate and remove cover. (do not remove top flange)
  • Insert unit through hole in floor and fasten with #6 wood screws through holes in flange.

  • Insert wiring through holes in bottom plate.
  • Connect and insert communication jacks (keystone style) and replace divider plates.

  • Carpet or other flooring is to butt up to the edge of cover for a flush installation.

Note:
For installation in existing hardwood flooring, use a 6” hole saw to drill a ¼” depth recess (prior to drilling the 4” hole) then, using the same pilot hole, drill the 4” hole all the way through. For installation in existing ceramic flooring, a tapered edge plate can be used.

For ceramic tile, install multiconnect unit before tile installation.
For situations of retrofit where floor can not be chiseled for flush fit, order tapered faceplate (tpr) which has an outside tapered edge on your configuration.

For all types:

  • remove top cover to totally expose configuration plate.
  • remove configuration plate (4 screws) to expose mounting plate with mounting holes
  • fasten the unit to the floor with #6 stainless steel wood screws
  • connect wires to supplied connectors.
  • re-assemble configuration plate to unit
  • insert cover plate.
